Badminton player Jwala Gutta takes sharp dig at Anupam Kher's The Accidental Prime Minister

Last week, the trailer of the much-talked film, The Accidental Prime Minister, hit the web and drew much flak from social media, as it seems like a thinly-veiled dig at the Congress party. The film chronicles the life of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. It is based on the book written by Sanjaya Baru, who was the media advisor of Manmohan Singh. Akshaye Khanna is portraying the role of Baru and is also narrating the film as well.

Anupam Kher, who is a strong supporter of the BJP (Bharat Janata Party), has been defending the film from heat constantly and says that it is "his life's best performance" and that it is historically accurate.
Ace badminton player Jwala Gutta took a sharp dig at Anupam Kher and tweeted, "Ok...so when #DeepikaPadukone was being threatened by then ministers for her role in PADMAVATI...I just want to know if #Anupamkher condemned it!! I tried looking for it..couldn’t find anything...pls help me know this fact!!"

In January of 2018, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, came under fire from Hindu outfit groups, who alleged that it was a distortion of history. The row raged across India, and some actually threatened to "cut off Deepika's head" for Rs 10 crore.
Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and written by Mayank Tewari, The Accidental Prime Minister will hit the theatres on January 11.
